Sometimes listed as "Shishio Improved" or "Shin Chishio", this upright selection of Japanese Maple is a stunning addition to the garden. New growth in spring is brilliant ruby red. The leaves mature to mid green, which adds a nice contrast to the red new growth. Young twigs have red bark, and fall colour ranges from orange to red.
