This is a superlative tree for the garden, through all seasons. Known in English as the "Coral Bark" Japanese Maple, it definitely lives up to its reputation. Young branches are wrapped in coral red bark, which shows off the pinkish yellow new foliage. The tree becomes a cloud of light green leaves, that turn soft orange yellow, in autumn. The brilliantly coloured bark is a welcome addition to the winter garden. Awarded the RHS Award of Garden Merit
