'Cuprea' is another wonderful old cultivar (pre 1873), that has withstood the test of time. This plant is a true chameleon, that changes its look throughout the year. In springtime, it displays lime green foliage, with copper tips. Sprays of single lavender flowers appear against coppery orange foliage by August. This show lasts well into October. Never boring, the plant finally blushes bronze red through the winter.
