    Cotinus x 'Grace' is a smokebush hybrid known for its attractive foliage and rounded leaves. In full sun, leaves remain red until fall when they turn a range of scarlet to orange hues. If allowed to grow unpruned, this deciduous, multi-stemmed shrub produces large, airy, purplish pink spent flower panicles that resemble puffs of smoke in summer. If a more compact plant with larger leaves is desired, prune hard to within 30 cm of the ground in spring; however, this sacrifices the 'smoke' for that year.
