This is truly a sensational addition to the Mophead Hydrangea clan. 'Red Sensation' is more compact than older hydrangeas, and fits well in even smaller gardens. It has the added feature of producing blooms on old and new wood. The flowerheads are green when they first emerge, and age to a bright rosy red before fading to rich purple by the end of the season.
