This close relative of the German Iris really 'ups' the game as far as visual interest is concerned. This selection of Iris pallida, the 'Sweet' or 'Dalmatian Iris', displays bold glaucous grey green sword-like foliage, broadly edged in white. If that wasn't enough, sweetly fragrant light blue purple flowers rise above the foliage in late Spring. It can also be found listed as "Argentea Variegata". Dried rhizomes are the source of perfumers' "Orris Root"
