The Tulip Tree is a relic from the age of the dinosaurs, and is a giant that commands respect. Although the current record holder has reached the height of 58 meters, it tends to be much smaller in garden settings. Its blocky four lobed leaves are unmistakable, as are the pale yellowish green flowers that appear high in the tree. Its habit of branching out high on the trunk suits it perfectly as a specimen or shade tree.
