This new Magnolia cultivar originated in New Zealand, and will be a very welcome addition to any garden. 'Burgundy Star' carries an abundance of lightly fragrant, large claret red buds on a well shaped small tree. The flowers have excellent substance, and slowly age to a deep rose.

Light Requirements: Full Sun to Part Sun
Height: 3.0 m to 4.5 m
Spread: 1.8 m to 2.4 m
Soil Requirements: Evenly moist well drained rich acidic soils
