Apart from having a fun name to pronounce, this large deciduous conifer has been with us since the age of the dinosaurs. The Dawn Redwood has conquered the world since its rediscovery in 1941. This fast growing tree has a flared and fluted trunk that can only be described as 'muscular'. It is graced by soft green fern-like needles that take on reddish bronze hues before they are shed in autumn.
