This herbaceous peony will grace your gardens with large, non-fading, double watermelon red blooms on very sturdy stems. 'Kansas' is classified as an early midseason bloomer, and is regarded as one of the best double red peonies to date. It was awarded the American Peony Society Gold Medal in 1957
