This much loved European native is a cheerful harbinger of spring. Many fragrant pale butter yellow flowers, with a deep yellow heart emerge individually, in a mass from a low rosette of wrinkled ovate green leaves. Also known as the 'Common Primrose', it was awarded the coveted RHS Award of Garden Merit, and makes an ideal addition to moist woodland gardens.
