This Nova Scotian native tree is one of our largest and most impressive deciduous trees. Bronze red new foliage emerges in the spring, and matures to lustrous green. With the onset of cooler autumn temperatures, the leaves turn hues of yellow, tan, russet red and brown. These trees create a large, almost muscular silhouette in winter.
