This select form of Black Locust really comes into its own in spring. The late emerging finely textured foliage begins life an interesting bronze red, before taking on greener tones in summer. Dense chains of highly fragrant purple-pink flowers erupt in late spring, and are magnets for bees, butterflies and hummingbirds, enough to make this a desirable plant for honey production.
