Nobody would ever guess that this European native is closely related to Bell flowers, but there it is! Unusual spiky "horned" round heads of violet blue flowers appear in early to mid summer above evergreen blue-green foliage. The unique flower shape has been compared to that of a Medieval Mace. This plant is perfectly suited for rock gardens or planting near the front of borders.
