This fascinating willow comes to us from the alpine regions of Hokkaido, Japan. Its low growing form makes it ideally suited for use in rock gardens, slopes, or cascading over rock walls. Leathery dark green textured leaves emerge in spring with a covering of silk white hairs, and turn yellow in autumn. The sinuous mahogany coloured branches twist and climb over and around obstacles, providing an interesting silhouette in early winter.
