'Blue Moon' is a less aggressive grower than some of the other wisterias, but is well noted for its excellent winter hardiness and ability to produce flowers in Zones 3-4. It has very fragrant, pea-like, blue flowers that bloom in June. Flowers may bloom simultaneously on the racemes, producing a striking floral display. Over time, the vine stems twist together, producing a trunk-like appearance.
